With over 20 years experience in the construction industry, Nicola knows that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to a project. NJB Studio works in stages to get your project from concept design to completed home and we like to meet regularly to make sure everything is on track.

Stage One

Concept Design

The Concept Design phase starts with learning about your dream wish list for your renovation to create a design brief which sets the tone for your project. Next is researching any specific council requirements for your property and commissioning a site survey before undertaking a site visit to take internal measurements and tonnes of reference photos. Nicola then sketches concept design options in the form of plans and 3D drawings and presents these with precedent images for a look & feel of the project.

Design Development

The Design Development phase is time to build on the concept design to create the resolved layout based on your feedback. Detailed plans, elevations, sections and 3D sketches are produced and presented to you. Materials are discussed and consultants engaged if required.

Council Approval

Once we have locked in your design, we prepare the complete architectural package for Development Application or Complying Development submission. Coordination of all the consultants and engineers drawings and documents with our drawings is required before we help you navigate the council & NSW Planning submission process. NJB Studio responds to the queries from council or the Private Certifier during the assessment period.

Stage Two

Construction Documentation

Yay you’ve received council approval for your design! We can prepare construction documents including plans, sections, elevations and detail drawings. These are highly detailed drawings coordinated with the Structural engineers design and all other consultants information. This is when the finer details of the architecture are expressed. Details are our obsession!

Interior Joinery Documentation

We can help you select all the finishes and fixtures for your home. NJB Studio can complete highly technical drawings for the kitchen, bathrooms and all interior joinery for construction.
